happy first birthday, the lipliner!

You read that correctly! Mary and I have been clogging your newsfeed with our ramblings for one whole year! (Minus the brief hiatus, but who doesn’t love a good comeback story?)

We started this blog right after I had graduated college; we were balancing odd jobs but knew that writing was always going to be an important part of each our lives, whether it be professional or personal, or the winning combination of the two.   This platform was created as a means to ensure the continuation in practicing our writing skills.

I’d call this an outtake for our one and only LipLiner shoot, but this was as good as it got.

A lot can change in a year: Mary’s moved out and has a trendy Brooklyn apartment with some of our friends, and I’m getting settled into a full-time position.  One thing that hasn’t changed, though? The desire to write and publish pieces that resonate with people on some sort (read: any sort) of level.  I’m thankful for the transparency in my writing The Lipliner has allowed me to practice, and I’m especially thankful for everyone who has contributed / shared an article on Facebook / read a piece and told us they liked it.  Writing for the self is important, but it’s nice to know that someone else is reading out there too!

To celebrate The LipLiner’s first birthday, below is the comprehensive guide to our published pieces, including a link to my favorite piece from every contributor, myself and Mary included. Whether you’ve been with us from the start, or are checking us out for the first time today, we sure are glad you’re here.
